Critical Reflection: What are the questions?

Hi,

In class, we had a Nearpod lesson about our Critical Reflection Essay. I wanted to show all of the questions in this blog post and share some notes I have written on them. In my next blog post I will be explaining which order I will be writing them in and how I’m planning my reflection out. I’m so happy that this year that the essay doesn’t require a video just an essay is perfect.

These are the 4 questions that need to be answered along with some notes:

1. How do your products represent social groups or issues?

  •  Provide specific examples of representation incorporated into the production. Such as groups, ideas, events, etc.
  • Consider if your project is successful in developing your representation goals

2. How do the elements of your production work together to create a sense of ‘branding’?

  • Describe the brand you wish to develop
  • Discuss how (or not) all three components work to develop your brand
  • Discuss what could be changed to improve brand development

3. How do your products engage with the audience?

  • Include specific techniques you researched
  • Discuss genre and some important conventions
  • Provide specific examples of how research impacted your production choices
  • Include specific productions/samples you reviewed

4. How did your research inform your products and the way they use or challenge conventions?

  • Provide description of target audience
  • Discuss specific ways your three components engage your audience - or not

I will be elaborating more about my critical reflection in my next blog.
